Girl group TWICE has finally topped the U.S. Billboard main album chart “Billboards 200” with its 13th mini album “With You-th.” Most of the tracks on “With You” are in Korean, and it is considered the 24th album in a non-English language to top the Billboard 200 chart. This is the first time for a non-English-speaking album to top the charts this year.
Billboard announced on the 3rd (local time) that “With You” topped the chart in a chart preview article, beating country star Morgan Wallen’s “One Thing At A Time” and Kanye West and Ty Dalla’s “Vultures 1.”
TWICE's new record
This is the first time TWICE has topped the Billboard 200. It is the eighth K-pop girl group after BTS, SuperM, Stray Kids, Black Pink, Tomorrow X Together, New Jeans and ATEEZ. It is the third K-pop girl group after Black Pink and New Jeans.
Meanwhile, Billboard’s 200 chart puts the traditional record sales score, streaming equivalent album (SEA) converted from streaming times to record sales, and track equivalent album (TEA) converted from digital music downloads to record sales. With You’s physical record sales amount to 90,000. The SEA unit has 4,500 points and the TEA unit has 500 points.
